Our children and youth are vital to the continued development of the HGSS community, and our aim is to provide a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere for all.
Children may sit with their parents in the main service and select from a broad range of books outside the shul in the foyer. Alternatively, there are several children’s services which commence between 10.45am and 11.00am for approximately 45 minutes to an hour, every Shabbat morning and Yom Tov. Which are designed to engage children of every age, instilling within them a love for their Judaism whilst allowing them to feel comfortable within the Synagogue and communal environment.
The children are divided into four age related groups, broadly defined as toddlers – nursery, reception – year 1 , year 2 – 3 and years 4 – 6 and are equally suitable for children at Jewish and non-Jewish schools. The services are led by members of the community on a rotating basis.
