Youth & Community Couple – Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue (HGSS), London
Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue (HGSS) is looking for an inspiring Youth & Community Couple to lead engaging Jewish youth work and community programming in a warm, vibrant Modern Orthodox synagogue in North West London. You will build a weekly programme of religious, cultural and social activities that strengthens young people’s connection to Jewish life, learning and leadership.
- Location: HGSS (Norrice Lea), London
- Hours: Full-time (40 hours) / part-time considered
- Salary: £26,000 per annum (40 hours) pro rata plus accommodation

Key responsibilities
- Deliver a vibrant weekly youth programme (religious, cultural and social) for multiple age groups.
- Build strong relationships with young people and families, increasing engagement across synagogue life.
- Coordinate youth activities and services on Shabbat and festivals; be present for weekly, Shabbat and festival services.
- Plan and run events (e.g., shiurim, socials, sports, community initiatives) and promote activities appropriately, including via social media.
- Support pre- and post-Bar/Bat Mitzvah programming and wider community events planning.
- Manage youth/community activity budgets and keep relevant website/database information up to date.
About you
- Proven experience in youth and community work, with a track record of running programmes.
- Warm, energetic and proactive; confident building relationships and leading groups.
- Excellent communication, organisation and IT skills; able to work to deadlines.
- Committed to the philosophy and practice of Orthodox Judaism, with a strong understanding of Judaism, Jewish values and the UK Jewish community.
- Ability to engage a wide range of young people, including those less connected
