OUR YOUTH (YEARS 7 TO 13) BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN CHILDHOOD AND ADULTHOOD. HGSS THEREFORE PROVIDES A RANGE OF YOUTH ACTIVITIES, BOTH ON SHABBAT AND HOLIDAYS, AS WELL AS DURING THE WEEK AND ON SUNDAY EVENINGS.
HGSS Youth offers diverse programming under the guidance of our Youth Directors. Our goal is to offer a wide array of activities, blending social engagement with educational opportunities. Tuesday evenings are dedicated to learning sessions accompanied by dinner. We host weekly Shabbat youth services, complete with a special kiddush and engaging discussions. Together, our youth commemorate the holidays, including Chanukah and Purim, with lively celebrations and come together for inspiring High Holy Days services.
Additionally, our annual Holocaust Memorial Day Friday Night Dinner is a flagship event, offering our youth a chance to hear first-hand from survivors or their family members. Together with several other local communities we launched the ‘Cross-community Zone’, a 5-part Year 7 programme – sessions include volunteering for Mitzvah Day and a Chanukah experience at JW3.
